PHR 2252 - Independent Study in Applied Clinical Research

2 Credit Hours
This independent study course provides experience in how to design and execute a clinical research project the directly involves patients. Students conduct a relevant background literature search to assess study methods and the nature of the null hypothesis.  A second component of the course involves interviewing patients for possible participation in the study based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, obtaining informed consent, counseling study subjects about the protocol, and collecting information from subjects as required.  A third component involves collating information collected from subjects and assisting the investigators in data analysis.
