CCS 3013 - Cultural Competence and Ethnography3 Credit Hour(s) This course introduces the student to issues of cultural understanding including worldview, value systems, ethnography, and cross-cultural communication. Emphasis is placed on guided cross-cultural interaction and involvement. In a student’s educational plan, this course is best taken during her/his third or fourth year.This course is designed to equip students with the cultural tools necessary for incarnational Christian witness, in-depth cross-cultural understanding and analysis, and successful cultural adaptation. It is intended to prepare students for work with missions organizations, non-governmental development agencies, or humanitarian organizations, as well as leadership of local church missions involvement.
