COU 5751 - Counseling Internship III

This course is a continued counseling internship experience designed as an elective course for students needing additional time to complete program required clinical experience of a minimum of 600 clock hours with a minimum of 240 hours of direct service. This course continues to support students in applying counseling knowledge acquired in previous courses to clinical settings through direct face-to-face services, support services, and supervision. The practicum/internship process is designed to meet licensing requirements for the state of Florida pertaining to Mental Health Counseling. Each student will have a qualified licensed or certified site supervisor in addition to a Counselor Education Faculty member overseeing his or her practicum experience. Students will complete a predetermined number of both direct therapeutic and related experiences during their supervised practicum/internship.

Prerequisite: Completion of COU 5723 and the approval of the Counselor Education Faculty.
