PHL 5053 - History of Philosophy

3 Credit Hours

Students will study the general flow of history of Western philosophy with special attention to how key ideas within the tradition have shaped culture. May include a focus on a key figure within the history of philosophy (e.g., Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Hume, etc.), a key time period in the history of philosophy (e.g., Ancient philosophy, Medieval philosophy, Enlightenment philosophy, etc.), or a focus on a philosophical movement within the history of philosophy (e.g., British Empiricism, Cambridge Platonism, Logical Positivism, Existentialism, etc.).
