Mission

The mission of the undergraduate psychology program is to educate students in the content and methods of various sub-specialty areas of scientific psychology and to critically evaluate them from a Christian perspective. The Christian focus of the department enables students to investigate the full range of secular psychology. The department’s goal is to present the secular and biblical aspects of psychology in an integrative manner. Our students are also encouraged and challenged to pursue professional and graduate level education. Students will find that the instructors in the Department continually emphasize biblical values, especially as these relate to ethical issues within the field. The faculty is also committed to ongoing efforts to be informed of current developments and trends in psychology. Students are encouraged to examine the relationship between psychology and other disciplines.
