General Education Requirements - 43 Credit Hours


Required School of Communicationand Media Courses - 9 Credit Hours


Practicum - 4-8 Credit Hours


These practica may be repeated for a total of 4 credits each.

Cinema-Television majors must fulfill the requirements of one of the following tracks:


Department of Journalism& Entertainment Media Electives - 12 Credit Hours


Students in the Film Production and Television Production Tracks must complete an additional 12 credit hours of courses with the JEM prefix. Course selection must be determined in conjunction with the student’s academic advisor.

General Education Requirements


Students majoring in Cinema-Television must take JEM 3123 - International Cinema  to fulfill the Global Studies requirement of the General Education curriculum. Likewise, students in Cinema-Television must also take THE 2212 - Theatre Appreciation  in order to fulfill the Fine Arts requirement of the General Education program. Cinema-Television majors should carefully consider taking COM 3563 - Introduction to Communication Research  to fulfill the Social Science requirement of the program.

*15 additional credit hours are required to meet the 120 total and the 42 upper-level credit hour requirement.
