120 Credit Hours

The Biblical and Theological Studies major provides a comprehensive study of the Biblical Scriptures and is designed to help the student develop a deeper understanding of the Bible and of Christian theology. Emphasis is on reading the Biblical texts, engaging their interpretation, and understanding their application to Christian life and thinking. To accomplish this purpose, Biblical and Theological Studies majors must finish twelve (12) hours of a biblical language and take a variety of classes covering different sections of the biblical text, methods of biblical interpretation, and theological inquiry. A Biblical and Theological Studies degree prepares majors to work in churches and Christian ministries as well as making graduates well qualified for seminary or graduate school.
