PHR 1142 - Pharmacy Calculations2 Credit Hours This course focuses on mastering various calculations encountered within common pharmacy practice settings. The primary purpose is to enable students to accurately apply appropriate mathematical concepts found within the practice of pharmacy based on patient-specific parameters, including prescription compounding. Emphasis will be placed on improving and applying problem-solving skills for the needs of patients. Learning in this course results from practicing calculations both within and outside the classroom. Students are expected to independently practice calculations assigned during class, and students are encouraged to proactively seek assistance from course instructors when necessary. The intent of the cumulative quizzes is for students to repetitively learn and re-learn applications of appropriate mathematical concepts found within the practice of pharmacy.
