PHR 3012 - Topics in Veterinary Medicine2 Credit Hours This course will offer pharmacy students an opportunity to comprehend, explore, and experience the valuable role of the veterinarian-pharmacist relationship. Upon completion of this course, the students will have gained knowledge and skills that will positively impact their practical performance in situations involving the provision of pharmaceutical care to animals. This course will provide valuable understanding of the compassion of veterinary medicine, basic veterinary care and topics in advancements of veterinary medicine, veterinary compounding from the veterinarian’s perspective, as well as common veterinary diseases and pharmacology related to medications used for these disease states. Off campus lectures and tours will be integrated as part of this course, offering additional practical angles to the materials learned.
