BIO 3604 - Natural History of the Galapagos Islands4 Credit Hour(s) The Galapagos Islands, lying 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, offer a unique opportunity for the study of natural history. Field oriented course focusing on the geological history of the Islands, the colonization of the Islands by animals and plants, adaptations displayed by the flora and fauna, and the impact of humans on the Islands’ ecology. All students must participate in a field trip to the Galapagos Archipelago. Course for majors and non-majors.
Prerequisite: C- or above in BIO 1043 or BIO 1113 and permission of instructor Availability: Odd Springs/Summers (trip). Consult the Department.
