MAT 1863 - Trigonometry & Analytical Geometry3 Credit Hour(s) This pre-Calculus offering lays the foundation for advanced study in mathematics. The topics considered require a strong algebra background and basic knowledge of geometric concepts. Topics include: trigonometric functions, analytic trigonometry, trigonometric and parametric equations, polar coordinates, vector applications, conic sections (including rotation of axes). A graphing calculator is required. (Instruction will be given using the TI-83 Plus.)
Prerequisite: Completion of three years of college preparatory mathematics to include Advanced Algebra with at least a “B” average or MAT 1853 with a grade of at least “C-“ Availability: Fall/Spring
