PLS 3093 - Western Order: The Christian Contribution3 Credit Hour(s) Examines selected primary and secondary texts exploring the contribution of Christianity to the development of Western political and social order. Topics to be explored include the value of the human person; the Christian distinction between God and Caesar; the concept of limited government; medieval jurisprudence and institutional development; the Reformation; Christian voluntarism; and the Christian elaboration of natural rights and ‘higher law’, including the higher law foundation of the U.S. Constitution.
