COU 5373 - The Physiological and Spiritual Effects of Trauma

3 Credit Hours

This course will provide insight into the physiological and spiritual nature of traumatic events. Students will gain an understanding of the neurobiological systems, neurotransmitters and physiological structures involved in the body’s response to trauma and body regulating techniques to prepare for clinical intervention. In addition, the global and specific impact of trauma on molar spiritual issues will be explored within a Christian world view.
