COU 5723 - Counseling Internship II

3 Credit Hours
This course is a continued counseling internship experience designed to further support students in applying counseling knowledge acquired in previous courses to clinical settings through direct face-to-face services, support services, and supervision. The practicum/internship process is designed to meet licensing requirements for the state of Florida pertaining to Mental Health Counseling. Each student will have a qualified licensed site supervisor at their external site in addition to a Counselor Education Faculty member overseeing his or her practicum/internship experience. Students will complete a predetermined number of both direct therapeutic and related experiences during their supervised practicum/internship. Students are expected to complete a minimum of 600 clock hours with a minimum of 240 hours of direct service over the course of the two internship semesters.

Prerequisite: Completion of COU 5703  and the approval of the Counselor Education Faculty.
