   |  BUS 2001 - Why Business?1 Credit Hour(s)This coure investigates the purpose of business and its role in an enlightened society. It also examines the role of faith, calling and motivation in the productive pursuit of enterprise. It draws insights from theology, philosophy, and economics, to evaluate the purpose and practice of business. It addresses the myth that business is innately a morally suspicious activity and proposes that business can and should be an honorable profession. Amon the issues discussed are good business principles, valuable character traits, the function of markets, the meaningful information carried by prices and other data, and the impact of trade, division of labor, specialization, value creation, trade, and innovation on institutions.
