FOR 4121 - Forensic Serology Laboratory1 Credit Hour(s) This course explores the fundamental concepts and principles for examining biological fluids (e.g., blood, semen, saliva, and urine) in a forensic laboratory. It provides students with essential insights into forensic serology and DNA analysis, emphasizing the testing of these fluids. Students will be introduced to basic chemical, biological, immunological, and microscopic techniques, including presumptive and confirmatory methods for identifying and analyzing biological fluids. Additionally, students will learn to document their findings precisely, carefully, and in detail, as a forensic serologist may be called upon in court to provide expert testimony and explain their data.
Prerequisite: CHM 1013 , BIO 1103 and BIO 1113 Corequisite: FOR 4122 Availability: WPB: Spring
