   |  PRX 2223 - Literature Evaluation3 Credit HoursThis course provides students with skills to effectively summarize, analyze and apply information from the biomedical literature. Course content includes an introduction to clinical study research designs, and application of commonly used descriptive and inferential statistics. A major focus will be the concept of the null hypothesis, the importance of p values, the difference between statistical and clinical significance and potential sources of error in a scientific study. Students will be expected to interpret and evaluate information in clinical trials and extrapolate information to aid in making evidence-based patient care decisions. Students will be required to assess several articles for validity, accuracy and clinical significance.
