ICS 4033 - Cross-Cultural Understandings of Illness and Health

In this course attention will be given to the ways in which persons from different cultural contexts understand the issues of human nature, illness, and health. Students will move from an examination of the holistic view of human nature in biblical perspective to a consideration of human nature in Western cultural perspective, followed by investigation of selected non-Western cultural settings. The course culminates with consideration of implications for Christian healing ministries in non-Western contexts.
