Biblical Studies

The Biblical Studies major provides a comprehensive study of the biblical Scriptures and is designed to help the student develop a deeper understanding of the Bible. Emphasis is on reading the biblical texts, engaging their interpretation, and understanding their application to Christian life and thinking. To accomplish this purpose, Biblical Studies majors must finish twelve (12) hours of a biblical language and take a variety of classes covering different sections of the biblical text and methods of biblical interpretation. A Biblical Studies degree prepares majors to work in churches and Christian ministries as well as qualifying graduates for seminary or graduate school.
