|
120 Credit Hours
The major in Ministry with a concentration in Christian Social Ministries (CSM) prepares students for work and ministry by providing the knowledge, skills and character needed for beginning generalist practice within various Christian faith-affiliated and secular social service organizations. The CSM concentration equips students to address such issues as poverty, homelessness, personal and family crises, among others through church, parachurch, or secular agencies. Using the Christian worldview and the Generalist Intervention Model students are equipped with the theoretical foundation and skills to serve individuals and families in small groups, communities, and organizations in local, national, and international arenas.

- Prepare graduates to function effectively in multicultural and multiracial environments
- Provide students with a broad knowledge-base of theories and policies in order to enter directly into social services effectively with individuals in families, small groups, organizations and communities.
- Provide students with opportunities for critical thinking and experiential learning suitable for employment in faith-based and secular organizations
- Equip students with research-based knowledge to understand normative human development and behavior across the lifespan.
