General Education Requirements - 43 Credit Hours

English majors must meet the General Education requirements as set out in General Education Program .

School of Arts and Sciences: Additional Natural Science Requirements - 5 Credit Hours

Five additional hours of natural science: 1 lab to accompany the course taken for general education [BIO 1043 , BIO 1023 , ESC 1043 , OCY 1043 , PHY 1043  or PHY 1063 ], and one additional natural science course and accompanying lab. The two natural sciences must be in different areas (both cannot be in biological sciences).

Foreign Language Requirement

English/Secondary Education majors must successfully complete at least two semesters of elementary foreign language study OR one semester of intermediate foreign language study at the college level. Students may meet this requirement by successfully completing two elementary courses in one or more foreign languages with a final grade of C- or higher OR completing one intermediate course in a foreign language with a final grade of C- or higher.

No CLEP, AP, or transient study credits may be used to fulfill this requirement.

English Majors taking foreign language requirement courses in Spanish, French or German at PBA should use one of these courses to fulfill the Global Studies requirement.
