Ministry: Concentration in Worship Ministries, B.A.

120 Credit Hours

This major provides students the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for leading an effective worship ministry within a church or parachurch ministry. Courses concentrate on providing the biblical and theological foundations for meaningful worship, the development of organizational and administrative competencies in leading a worship ministry, the nurture and care of people, and the technical skills needed in worship ministries (i.e., audio-visual, production, lighting & staging, etc.).

While many students completing this major may pursue graduate or seminary education, many may utilize their training upon graduation to serve in various capacities on the staff of a church or parachurch: church worship pastor/director, youth worship leader, director of children or youth choirs, camp worship leaders.

General Education Requirements - 44 Credit Hours


It is strongly recommended that students in this concentration select CCS 3503 - World Religions  or JEM 3123 - International Cinema  as their Global Studies Elective. It is strongly recommended that Ministry Majors take either PHL 1103 - Foundations of Social Science  or PSY 2133 - General Psychology  as their Social Science Elective.
