120 Credit Hours

The major in Ministry with a concentration in Pastoral Ministries exists to assist students in acquiring/developing the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for ministry within a local church—though it also would apply to some parachurch organizations that have a similar focus. The focus of this concentration aims at providing students with the knowledge and skills essential for fruitful ministry in the local church primarily in two major areas: (1) leadership and organizational skills, and (2) skills that foster the development, nurture, and care of people.

While many students completing this major will pursue graduate or seminary education, many may utilize their training upon graduation to serve in various capacities on the staff of a church: administrative positions, adult ministries, pastoral ministries, discipleship ministries.
