General Education Recommendations
- Fine Art Requirement: Communication majors are well-advised to take THE 2212 - Theatre Appreciation or CIN 1202 - Film Appreciation to fulfill the Fine Arts requirement of the General Education program.
- Global Studies Requirement: Communication majors are strongly recommended to take COM 3523 - Global Digital Media Ethics to fulfill the Global Studies requirement of the General Education curriculum.
- Social Science Requirement: Communication majors must take COM 3573 - Communication Research Methods to fulfill the Social Science requirement of the program.

A minor and 8-14 additional credit hours are required to meet the 120 total and the 42 upper-division credit hour requirements. COM 3041 - Debate and Forensics Lab must be taken three times to meet the curricular requirement. It may be taken a total of six times, providing three COM elective credits toward the degree requirements.
