General Education Requirements - 43 Credit Hours

Public Relations majors must meet the Baccalaureate Degree Requirements as set out in the General Education Program .

Note:

Incoming students must take COM 1113 - Public Speaking , ENG 1113 - English Composition I , and ENG 1123 - English Composition II during their freshman year. Students transferring to PBA after their freshman year must take these courses within their first two semesters of study.

Required School of Communication and Media Courses - 9 Credit Hours

Required Public Relations Courses - 33 Credit Hours

Note:

* Students majoring in Public Relations are strongly advised to take their internship in the summer semester between their junior and senior years.

Public Relations Electives - 9 Credit Hours

Students must choose 9 credit hours of electives from any of the courses below:

BUH 3003 , BUM 2183 , BUR 2153 , BUR 3023 and BUS 2013 have pre-requisites that the student must first fulfill before the course can be taken for elective credit.

*A minor and 2-8 additional credit hours are required to meet the 120 total and the 42 upper-division credit hour requirements.
