Program Learning Outcomes
- Synthesize theoretical and empirical knowledge from the liberal arts, sciences, humanities, and Christian faith to support ethical decision making for optimal health outcomes.
- Collaborate with leaders in similar/other healthcare disciplines to develop solutions and understanding to identified health needs at the local, regional, and global level.
- Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate/interpret/analyze scientific and medical data and develop effective strategies for the formulation of solutions to specific problems in the health sciences.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all forms of healthcare/patient/medical information communication including verbal, electronic, and written.
Academic Status
Students enrolled in the Master of Science in Health Science program must achieve and maintain a minimum “B” status to continue enrollment and successful completion of the program. If a student fails to meet this “B” letter status, the student will be given a one semester probationary status allowing that student to improve their academic status to a “B” letter. In the event the student fails to meet this “B” letter status requirement following the probationary status, the student will be dismissed from the Master of Science in Health Science program. A probationary status will be given only once per student as an enrolled graduate student in the Master of Science in Health Science program.
Transfer Credits
The total amount of credit hours required for the Master of Science in Health Science Graduate Program degree is 30 credit hours. The maximum amount of transfer credits should be limited to 6 credit hours (20%) and must be approved by the Program Director of the Master of Science in Health Science program and the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. Transfer credits do not take the place of course titled HSC 5073 - Basic Medical Pathology , which is a foundation course for the Master of Science in Health Science program.
