Graduation Requirements
Conferral of a Baccalaureate degree in this program of study is determined by successful completion of the Baccalaureate Graduation Requirements outlined here .
NOTE: Students must earn 42 upper level (3000-4000) credit hours in order to graduate. A total of at least 21 of these upper level credit hours must be completed in the selected major.

Faith, Roots, and Reason (General Education) - 43 Credit Hours
Philosophy majors must meet the Baccalaureate Degree Requirements (Bachelor’s Degrees) as set out in Faith, Roots, and Reason (General Education) Program . This program requires a grade of at least C- for all Faith, Roots, and Reason (General Education) requirements.
It is highly recommended students choose an upper level course for the completion of both the Global Studies requirement as well as the Social Science requirement to meet the 42 upper level hours required for degree conferral.

The following courses from the Faith, Roots, and Reason (General Education) Global Studies Menu are subject to program-specific requisites:

Philosophy Major - 27 Credit Hours
Philosophy Core - 6 Credit Hours
Philosophy Electives - 21 Credit Hours
Students are required to take 21 credit hours of upper level (3000-4000 level) PHL courses.
School of Liberal Arts and Sciences Additional Natural Science Requirements - 5 Credit Hours
Five additional hours of natural science: 1 lab to accompany the course taken for general education [BIO 1043 , BIO 1023 , ESC 1043 , OCY 1043 , PHY 1033 or PHY 1063 ], and one additional natural science course and accompanying lab. The two natural sciences must be in different areas: one must be a life science (biology) and the other must be a physical science (chemistry, physics, oceanography, earth science, or forensic science). In sum, students are required to take a minimum of 8 hours of natural science courses (one life science and one physical science, with their associated labs).
Additional Required Credit Hours - 27 Credit Hours
These additional hours may be fulfilled by a minor, second major, general electives taken concurrently, previous coursework taken at PBA or through transfer credits. Some of these additional hours must be upper level in order to fulfill the 42 upper level hours required for degree conferral.
Masters of International Development Program - 42 Credit Hours
Masters of International Development students must complete all degree requirements of the Masters of International Development program.
Concentration Options: Development Economics and Finance, Development Policy, or Applied Cultural Studies
