Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics

The principal objective of the Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics degree program is to enhance the quality of management practice, specifically using business analytical tools to aid in the goal. In order to successfully meet the scheduling needs of the working student, classes are scheduled for the evening on Monday through Thursday throughout the year—during the Fall semester, Spring semester, and two Summer terms. Students who apply and are approved for admission to the program may begin their enrollment during the Spring, Summer or Fall terms.

Global Business Trip

Each year, MBA students at PBA have the opportunity to learn and experience the business, economic and cultural environment of a nation or region of the world. Students interested in combining global business course work with experiential learning abroad should discuss this with the MBA Director. Global business destinations change annually. The business trip’s cost is not included in the student’s projected annual tuition costs.

Internship Requirements

Full-time international students with valid F-1 visa status are eligible to pursue a 49 credit hour track, which adds a required internship course during the 2nd year of the program.  F-1 students must apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) authorization with PBA’s International Student Services office at least two weeks before beginning the internship course.  The internship must be approved by a Designated School Official and must relate directly to the student’s major area of study.  Once approved, students will be registered for the business internship course.  The internship course can only be taken one time.

MBA Degree Requirements


Undergraduate Foundation (12 credit hours – waived with a completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration). Students who have not taken courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, microeconomics, or statistics are required to complete four foundational courses in addition to the 36 credit hours required in the program. These courses must be successfully completed prior to attempting the associated MBA course. A grade of at least a “C” or a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for successful completion of the Undergraduate Foundational Courses. These requirements may also be fulfilled by successful completion of MBA Prepworks online, self-paced study courses.

Program Learning Outcomes


“Expected student learning outcomes specify the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes students are expected to attain in courses or in a program.” Page 69. Resource Manual for the Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), 2018.

  1. Students will produce a formalized assessment of corporate performance analysis and objective decision making through a structured framework approach.
  2. Students will demonstrate critical thinking and team building skills in varied business environments.
  3. Students will select and employ appropriate quantitative approaches to support management problem solving and decision making.
  4. Students will explain a Christian Worldview perspective when addressing ethical and leadership dilemmas.

MBA Curriculum Requirements


The MBA in Business Analytics program carries the following requirements. Students complete 30 hours in core courses, split between MBA core and analytics-based courses, followed by the MBA capstone course, as described below. An additional six hours of elective courses in the field are additionally required. Undergraduate prerequisites must be successfully completed prior to course registration. A grade of at least “C” or a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for “successful” completion of all such prerequisites.
