Master of Science in Business Data Analytics

The Master of Science in Business Data Analytics (MSBDA) is a 36 to 37-credit hour graduate program designed to equip students with the skills to analyze complex business data and drive strategic decision-making. The program blends business acumen with advanced data analytics, covering key areas such as statistical modeling, machine learning, data visualization, business intelligence, and data management. Students learn to leverage varied tools to analyze business data, interpret trends and optimize business operations.

Program Learning Outcomes


“Expected student learning outcomes specify the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes students are expected to attain in courses or in a program.” Page 69. Resource Manual for the Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), 2018.

The Business Data Analytics Program students will:

  1. Evaluate the language, theory, and models of the field of business analytics
  2. Analyze and solve complex structured and unstructured business problems
  3. Appraise results and solutions from analytic processes for decision making
  4. Evaluate business processes for continuous improvement and innovation opportunity
  5. Integrate a Christian worldview into the design of business analytics systems development and implementation.

Graduate Requirements


Conferral of a Master of Science degree in this program of study is determined by successful completion of the Graduate Graduation Requirements outlined below.

MS in Business Data Analytics Degree Requirements


Undergraduate Foundation (3 credit hours of intermediate to advanced data analysis – waived with a completion of an equivalent course or approved Excel Remedial Course). This course must be successfully completed prior to attempting the associated pre-requisite course(s). A grade of at least a “C” or a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for successful completion of the Undergraduate Foundational Course.

Admission Requirements


  1. Earn a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
  2. Achieve an undergraduate minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale with exceptions, on a case-by-case basis
  3. Submit:
    1. Online application & application fee
    2. Official transcript from college/university where bachelor’s degree was conferred and from college/university where prerequisite courses were taken
    3. GMAT/GRE scores taken within the past five years
    4. GMAT/GRE requirements are waived for applicants whose GPA from an AACSB-accredited business school is above 3.25, or for others whose record of work and scholarship similarly demonstrates to the Graduate Admissions Committee their ability to succeed in a rigorous business data analytics curriculum.
    5. Two confidential recommendation forms
    6. Current resume with complete work history and dates
    7. Enrollment essays (prompts provided)
  4. Interview with the Admission Committee

M.S. in Business Data Analytics Curriculum Requirements


The MS in Business Data Analytics program carries the following requirements. The entire program is a 36-credit hour degree requirement. Undergraduate prerequisites must be successfully completed prior to course registration. A grade of at least “C” or a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for “successful” completion of all such prerequisites.

Internship Requirements


Full-time international students with valid F-1 visa status are eligible to pursue a 37-credit hour track, which adds a required internship course during the 2nd year of the program. F-1 students must apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) authorization with PBA’s International Student Services office at least two weeks before beginning the internship course. The internship must be approved by a Designated School Official and must relate directly to the student’s major area of study. Once approved, students will be registered for the business internship course. The internship course can only be taken one time.
