PRX 3223 - Case Studies in Pharmacotherapy IV

3 Credit Hours

This is the final course in a series of four courses designed to advance students’ critical thinking skills and abilities and guide their application of therapeutic knowledge in pharmaceutical care across a variety of settings.  The simulated course is the final step prior to the commencement of advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPE) and is intended to integrate all aspects of patient care and strengthen concepts learned in previous courses.  Students are expected to individually assess simulated patient cases and present their medication recommendations/interventions. Additionally, this course is designed to assess student readiness to enter advanced pharmacy practice experiences. As such, this course contains several APPE-Readiness-Assessments (ARA’s) and a cumulative objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) that evaluate the individual student’s ability to successfully demonstrate competency in key APPE-Readiness domains.
