PHR 4502 - Geriatrics4 Credit Hours This elective rotation is designed to further develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of clinical pharmacy practice in the area of geriatrics. Students will become familiar with the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic differences in geriatric patients in order to provide appropriate pharmaceutical care for this patient population. The student will learn the activities of a consultant pharmacist including reviewing drug regimens, recommending appropriate medications and doses for the management of disease states commonly encountered in the elderly, and identifying necessary monitoring parameters.
Prerequisite: Completion of all first, second and third year pharmacy classes
