HHP 2113 - Introduction to Athletic Training

This course will introduce students to the care and prevention of athletic injuries. Course content will include a survey of the athletic training profession, orthopedic injuries, musculoskeletal anatomy, orthopedic taping and wrapping, sports rehabilitation, nutrition and fitness for sport, and on the field and off the field care of athletic injuries. Students will be able to describe the role of the athletic trainer as well as identify and apply basic concepts for providing medical services to the athletic population within the context of the broader healthcare system.
