HHP 3333 - General Medical Conditions and Medical Terminology3 Credit Hour(s) In this course students will identify general medical conditions in the athlete and will learn how to differentiate between them during medical assessments. Students will learn how to perform a clinical examination to assess a patient for illnesses, conditions, and diseases that may be incurred during participation in athletics. The conditions covered in this course will include respiratory illness, cardiovascular conditions, dermatological conditions, infectious diseases, and systematic disorders. The medical terminology component of this course will include a detailed overview of the medical terms and abbreviations commonly used by healthcare professionals.
