FOR 4113 - Forensic Chemistry3 Credit Hour(s) This course applies the major chemical principles, methods, and instrumentation to analyze chemical trace evidence from a crime scene. Special attention will be given to determining and selecting accurate presumptive and confirmatory techniques/methods to analyze physical evidence. Additionally, it provides an understanding of the legal context of forensic chemistry. This course applies metrology, measurement, chemical foundations, forensic science, and forensic toxicology to analyze samples such as drugs, toxins, combustion, firearm residue, and explosives.
