Introduces the variety of culturally and linguistically diverse groups represented in the United States in order to foster understanding and sensitivity. Provides insights about cultural values and beliefs that can be used to meet the needs of these students and their families. Includes the relationship between culture and language, culture shock, intercultural competence, community resources, and family interactions.
