PHL 3193 - Ancient Philosophy

Emphasizing readings from primary sources, this course covers the pre-Socratic philosophers through Plotinus. Ancient schools of philosophy will be discussed including Cynicism, Skepticism, Epicureanism, Stoicism, Platonism, Aristotelianism, and Neoplatonism. A major theme of the course is that philosophy should be practiced as a way of life.
