As a foundational discipline within the life of the larger academic community, the philosophy program at Palm Beach Atlantic University provides students the opportunity to engage critically the history of Western thought from within a Christian worldview. As students reflect about the nature of reality, the possibility of knowledge, and the question of moral and aesthetic values, they are provided the opportunity to develop skills in critical thinking, writing, and reading primary texts. Additionally, students are encouraged to respond constructively to perennial philosophical and moral issues. The ultimate goal of the philosophy program is to prepare students for leadership in society by providing them with critical and constructive thinking skills. The philosophy program also aims to prepare students for graduate study. Programs
