The focus of this concentration provides students with the knowledge, skills, and character essential for fruitful ministry with children up to the beginning of middle school. This concentration equips them primarily in two major areas: (1) leadership and organizational skills, and (2) skills that foster the development, nurture, and care of children.
While many students completing this major may pursue graduate or seminary education, many may utilize their training upon graduation to serve in churches (i.e., pre-school and children’s ministries, Christian children’s day camps, and Vacation Bible School, etc.) as well as in parachurch ministries (i.e., Child Evangelism Fellowship, Awana, as well as other organizations connected to the International Network of Children’s Ministry, etc.).
