Biblical and Theological Studies, B.A.


120 Credit Hours

General Education Requirements - 43 Credit Hours


Biblical and Theological Studies majors must meet the Baccalaureate Degree Requirements  as set out in the General Education Program .

  • Global Studies Requirement: It is strongly recommended that Biblical and Theological Studies majors select CCS 3503 - World Religions  as their Global Studies Elective.
  • Social Science Requirement: It is strongly recommended that Biblical and Theological Studies majors select PHL 1103 - Foundations of Social Science  as their Social Science Elective.

Note:


*BIB majors who also minor in the School of Ministry cannot fulfill this major requirement with a course required for the minor. A second course from this list must be selected to meet the major requirement.

Required Biblical Language Courses - 12 Credit Hours


Select 12 hours of one Biblical language (either Greek or Hebrew)

Required Biblical and Theological Studies Courses - 3 Credit Hours


Biblical and Theological Studies Elective Courses - 9 Credit Hours


Select any additional three BIB courses 3000 level or above, except BIB 4153 BIB 1013  or BIB 1023  may also count for this elective credit toward the major when taken as the second Biblical language. CCS 3053 - Interpreting Scripture in Multicultural Contexts  may also count for elective credit.

Note:


BIB majors who are seeking early graduate admission to PBA’s Master of Divinity Program do not need to complete CSM 4043 . These students need to complete only 3 of the 9 credit hours of Biblical and Theological Studies Elective Courses listed in the major. Any students pursuing early graduate admission to PBA’s Master of Divinity Program who wish to complete their BA in addition to the MDiv degree will use 30 graduate hours toward their undergraduate degree, and they must meet all specific degree requirements outlined in the undergraduate catalog.
