Faith, Roots, and Reason (General Education) Requirements


The specific courses listed below are regular Faith, Roots, and Reason (General Education) offerings in the evening and/or online contexts. Fully online students should look for the corresponding course section code of OL (HHP 1013-OL). Students who complete courses from PBA’s daytime catalog through a prior major, by transfer evaluations, or by arrangements to enroll directly in a daytime course, may satisfy evening/online Faith, Roots, and Reason (General Education) requirements as outlined below.

Orientation - 3 Credit Hours


Note: All evening and online students are required to take an Orientation course, the evening/online equivalent of the “First Year Experience” course required of day students. Please refer to the Programs of Study to determine the appropriate selection for students in each major, whether ORL 1003  , MIN 2003 , or ENUR 3803 .  The required Orientation course should be taken in a student’s first semester. 

Biblical Studies - 6 Credit Hours


Note: MIN 4153  is a capstone course and should be taken during the student’s final semester of study.

Communication - 9 Credit Hours


Humanities and Fine Arts - 14 Credit Hours


Mathematics and Science - 6 Credit Hours

  • (or any other course listed in PBA’s daytime catalog as an approved Faith, Roots, and Reason (General Education) Mathematics course.  Students in certain majors may be required to complete math courses offered only through PBA’s daytime catalog; please refer to the Programs of Study to determine the appropriate selection for students in each major.)
