Education Minor

An education minor is available for students who are not seeking teacher certification. After EDU 1013 , the other five courses may be taken in any order, and a minimum of two courses will be offered each semester. In addition, these courses will prepare the student to enroll in alternative certification programs throughout the country. In order to take any course at 3000 level or higher, student must have passing scores on all sections of the General Knowledge (GK) exam.
This minor, which will not lead to state certification, is designed to provide foundational information about education. For example, minors may wish to pursue alternative education, homeschool their children, teach in a private school, or seek career in corporate training.
The minor in Education is designed to complement a variety of majors:
- Content-area students who wish to increase their career marketability.
- Students who wish to home-school their children.
- Students who wish to serve in adult, youth or children’s ministries.
- Students who wish to teach in a private, Christian school.
- Students who wish to work in domestic or international missions.
- Business majors who wish to pursue corporate training.
