Program Learning Outcomes

- Construct the various elements for video production and apply that knowledge within the sports media industry.
- Illustrate storytelling techniques from representational production aesthetics and media narratives.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the sports culture contexts from a biblical worldview.
- Demonstrate the fundamental skills to write across various media platforms.
Graduation Requirements
Conferral of a Baccalaureate degree in this program of study is determined by successful completion of the Baccalaureate Graduation Requirements outlined here .
NOTE: Students must earn 42 upper level (3000-4000) credit hours in order to graduate. A total of at least 21 of these upper level credit hours must be completed in the selected major.

Sports Broadcasting Major - 55 Credit Hours
Required Sports Broadcasting Courses - 39 Credit Hours
Production Labs - 16 Credit Hours
All Sports Broadcasting majors must enroll in and successfully complete SPB 3042 in each semester beginning upon declaration of major. The lab is designed to offer students the opportunity to develop skills in the various professional positions in a typical sports broadcast. The lab is structured so that active student athletes will be able to compete in their individual sports during the season without adversely affecting their participation in the lab. This lab may be repeated for a total of 16 credit hours.
Additional Required Credit Hours - 22 Credit Hours
These additional hours may be fulfilled by a minor, second major, general electives taken concurrently, previous coursework taken at PBA or through transfer credits.
