Mrs. Wendy Simpson Eynon, Coordinator
Through the Rinker Center for Experiential Learning students can pursue a variety of global opportunities to complement their studies through international education. Participation in these opportunities is an educational privilege awarded to students in good standing in the areas of academics, discipline, Workship, and Chapel. RCEL facilitates a variety of rigorous international academic programs, as well as volunteer opportunities abroad for students and faculty to serve.
Semester Abroad
PBA students are eligible for a semester abroad experience when they reach junior academic-standing (60+ credit hours) and have completed two semesters at PBA. With guidance from an RCEL Study Abroad Advisor, PBA students are able to enroll in their preferred host university abroad, receiving full academic credit towards their four-year degree plan, all while utilizing most or all of their financial aid.
With more than 20 locations available, students will be able to find the experience that is best suited for them.
- London, England
- Cape Town, South Africa
- Oxford, England
- Jerusalem, Israel
- Florence, Italy
- Cusco, Peru
- Amman, Jordan
- Prague, Czech Republic
- Klaipeda, Lithuania
- Dunedin, New Zealand
- Kampala, Uganda
- And more!
Class Abroad
In addition to semester-long programs, the RCEL office facilitates short-term, faculty-led programs, known as Class Abroad. Each Class Abroad program is planned by PBA faculty members who organize an academic course with an international travel component. In the past, such trips have included destinations like Israel, Paris, Vietnam, Germany, and the Galapagos. Students receive academic credit for the course while gaining hands-on experience in their studies.
Any interested students should contact the RCEL office at RCEL@pba.edu for further information, or visit the office in Okeechobee Hall 119.
