MLS 4063 - Church in Society3 Credit Hour(s) This course explores sociological and theological roles of the Church in 21st century contexts in which our students find themselves. It examines diverging ways Christian traditions throughout history have understood and lived out the intersection and interaction between Church and other social institutions (government, industry, family, schools and universities, etc.) and articulates how these traditions might inform the Church’s approach to critical contemporary social issues (pluralism, polarization, gender/sexuality, race/ethnicity, technology and social media, physical and mental health/disability, and other emerging issues).
