PSY 3203 - Research in the Social Sciences3 Credit Hour(s) This course is designed for upper-level undergraduate PBA Online students majoring in community psychology or other disciplines that incorporate the social sciences. As such, the course is interdisciplinary in nature, considering the research methods of psychology, social work, human services, or related fields. The course will provide an introduction to the research methodology and a basic framework to critically evaluate social and behavioral science research. Students will be exposed to and tested on the major concepts and methods for generating hypotheses and designing a multi-measure study applied to contemporary social issues. Successful completion of this course will enable the student to effectively evaluate the claims reported in the scientific literature as well as by so-called experts in the popular press.
