OCY 1003 - Introduction to Marine Science

An introductory marine science course designed for biology majors interested in marine biology. Students will become acquainted with the basic concepts in Geological Oceanography, Physical Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography, and Biological Oceanography. Students will learn about coastal processes, water properties, seafloor topography, circulation patterns, and marine organisms. An emphasis will be on the interdisciplinary nature of oceanography and preparing marine biology students for upper-level courses.
