Chair, Victor Copan, Th.D.
The major in Ministry equips students with the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for ministry within a church, parachurch or non-profit organization. The major seeks to provide students with training in ministry skills, organization and administration, and the nurture and care of people within a broad ministry context. Since ministry has become increasingly diverse, this major offers various concentrations students may select to match their unique ministry interest and calling. These include Pastoral Ministries, Social Ministries, Student Ministries, and Worship Ministries. The student whose interests go beyond these concentrations may wish to select the B.A. in Ministry without a concentration and choose electives that are tailored to their unique ministry interests.
While many students completing this major will pursue graduate or seminary education, others may utilize their training upon graduation to serve in various capacities on the staff of a church, parachurch or non-profit organization: student ministries, administrative positions, adult ministries, pastoral ministries, worship ministries, social work, etc.
