Program Learning Outcomes
“Expected student learning outcomes specify the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes students are expected to attain in courses or in a program.” Page 69. 1. Students demonstrate an appreciation of art in its historical and cultural contexts, past and present.
2. Students demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skill, and perceptual ability required when making and responding to art.
3. Students will demonstrate entry-level digital competency in commercial art.
General Education Requirements - 41 Credit Hours
Music and Fine Arts majors must meet the Baccalaureate Degree Requirements as set out in the General Education Program .
- Fine Arts Requirement: Music and Fine Arts majors fulfill the two-hour Fine Arts elective through major study.
- Global Studies Requirement: Art History I must be taken as the Global Studies Elective.
Required Art Core - 17 Credit Hours
Major Courses in Studio Art - 18 Credit Hours
Elective Art Courses in Studio Art - 12 Credit Hours
Note:
*Thirty-two additional credit hours are needed to meet the 120 total and the 42 upper-level
It is recommended that ART 1013 , ART 1123 , and ART 1022 be completed as early as possible. The remainder of the courses for the major may be completed in any order, subject to availability and prerequisites.
