ART 3023 - Ceramics For Art Majors3 Credit Hour(s) Designed for Art Majors, Ceramics for Art Majors is designed for the art student who wishes to explore ceramics and develop skill in various hand-building, sculptural, and throwing techniques. Working within historical and contemporary craft traditions, this class will provide instruction in clay forming both as an artistic and functional medium, surface enhancement techniques, and glazing. Emphasis will be on design, critical evaluation of form, technical skill and research. Attendance of four hours of studio instruction weekly is required with at least four hours additional independent studio time.
Prerequisite: ART 1013 Foundations of Art & Design for Majors, ART 1123 Drawing I
