Program Learning Outcomes

Resource Manual for the Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), 2018. - Articulate the various elements of story structure in moving pictures and apply that knowledge to a specific profession within the entertainment industry.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of redemptive storytelling in relation to a Christian worldview through film and television activities.
- Students should be able to dynamically communicate narratives utilizing various aesthetic and technological storytelling tools.
- Demonstrate through coursework an understanding of historical significance for cinema-television and mass media.
General Education Recommendations
- Fine Arts Requirement: Cinema Arts majors must take any Theatre (THE) course for a minimum of two credit hours to fulfill the Fine Arts requirement.
- Global Studies Requirement: Cinema Arts majors must take CIN 3123 - International Cinema to fulfill the Global Studies requirement.
- Social Science Requirement: Cinema Arts majors should carefully consider taking COM 3573 - Communication Research Methods to fulfill the Social Science requirement.
Required School of Communication and Media Courses - 9 Credit Hours
Production Labs - 5-8 Credit Hours
All Cinema Arts majors must enroll in and successfully complete CIN 3021 - Cinema-Television Production Lab in each semester beginning upon declaration of their major. This lab may be repeated for a total of 8 credit hours. Required Courses - 37 Credit Hours
